The Porrón, typical of Aragon and Catalonia that has spread throughout the Spanish territory, traditionally contains wine.

It incorporates two long tubes: one from which the liquid comes out and a larger one into which the wine is poured and allowed to breath, and which also serves as a handle.

Wine served in the Porrón is meant for sharing.

In order to drink from the Porrón, you raise it above your head and tip it towards you. The user’s skill is generally assessed on the basis of how far away from the mouth it is held. Skilled users of the porrón are fêted by their fellow-drinkers.
