This bodega, which expanded last year into a brand new winery in San Marcos near Utiel (visits welcome on Fridays and Saturdays and by arrangement on Sundays), is at the forefront of not just wine making in the Comunitat Valenciana, but also the broader promotion, communication and celebration of wine in general and theirs in particular.

The bodega is fully equipped for visits by the disabled, and the labels incorporate Braille.

The snail shape on the label of the bodega’s first wine, Solo, is associated not only with this excellent wine, but also the “trail of the snail” (“la senda del caracol”), which encompasses spas (“wine therapy”), hotels and restaurants.

Aranleón is interested in doing things carefully and well. So the Solo, first brought to market in 2005, was followed in 2007 by a premium red, Arbol Blanco 2005, and also by the cheaper Aranleón Selección aimed at supermarkets.

From outside the Comunitat Valenciana, Aranleón also produce Riente, an Albariño from Rias Baixas in Galicia, and a Cava, Deshora.
