Casa de la Ermita

Casa de la Ermita was founded in 1999, steming from a project set by a family whose past has always been linked to agriculture. Our cellars and their vineyards are situated in El Carche, within the range of one of the highest mountains in the whole of the region of Murcia, which is also a Protected National Park.

The bi-centenarian olive tree growing at the doors to the wine cellars of Casa de la Ermita became our inspiration to develop our image. A symbol which joins the agricultural tradition of Jumilla, with the up-to-date technologies used in our cellars to produce wines of excellent quality, taking the utmost care in achieving the best process of elaboration.

The cellar, surrounded by our vineyards, is situated at more then 700 meteres above sea level, where floral and animal wildlife live in harmony in an atmosphere not easily found. It has a park of 4,200 barrels of 225 litres each, three pneumatic presses, cooling kit, bottling machine for 5,000 barrels per hour, and deposit capacity for 2,500 thousand litres.

The grape enters the cellar at a height of 8 metres, and the vinification process is undertaken via gravity. The elaboration process takes between 10 and 15 days with temperature control thus achieving complex and taste wines, with a good acceptance for reserve.

On this land of scarce rainfalls and rocky grounds vigorous vines and ripe grapes grow. Our grapes are perfect to elaborate wines of a great texture, with an extraordinary body and full of personality, which allure both wine lovers and experts.
