It takes three years from the implemementation of organic methods to receiving the official accreditation. This is the first year that this wine’s label announces its organic status. This in itself is a reflection of the reconciling of traditional practices and modern thinking behind the bodega and its wines, and it is reflected in this Reposo’s blend of Moscatel with the highly aromatic Gewurztraminer most associated with the cooler climates of Alsace and Germany.
It is worth remarking that this wine is not made with the standard regional Moscatel (Moscatel de Alejandría/Muscat of Alexandria), but the more refined Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains, with the small berries and bunches that its name suggests. The wine is then made using the most gently sophisticated winemaking technology, to retain freshness while achieving complexity.
We think that this interesting, well-made and great value white wine will surprise a lot of people. One all too often hears things like “I only drink red wine”. Why deny yourself pleasures such as this Reposo?
Vino Valencia Tasting Notes
Appearance: Elegantly pale, hints of green.
Nose: Floral and citrus notes, touch of jasmine
Palate: Off-dry, interesting touch of viscosity, less citrus-flavour than indicated on the nose, more apples with apricots (GL), hint of mousse (PB)
GL food thoughts: Touch of sweetness would go well with scallops with ginger.
