The Vegalfaro Blanco 2008 has spent a month longer on French oak barrels than its predecessor: three months instead of two. The Chardonnay vines – accounting for 75% of the grapes used to make this wine – are grown in the upper part of the valley in the Finca Casa Alfaro in clay soil with limestone. The other 25% is Sauvignon Blanc.
The grapes were harvested in September 2009 and the wine making process includes a cold pre-maceration designed to ferment only the flower must at low temperatures.
